Maybe you see this video:

Lee about this video:
Quote: "Don’t ask me how it was done, magic is my current theory."

I can say this is no magic! Here the explaination:

After we can not see the load process, I think there is the point. This is not script which controlls the camera. It is a very simple tick. Set a third person character on the startmarker. After that go in the properties of the startmarker:
Then set the camera distance to 500(or more) and Camera X Offset to 0. After the game starts rotate the camera to the right until you get the view from the video. Now move with A(left) and D(right). Sorry if I crushed someones dreams

Maybe the author sets me wrong, or someone find a better solution, here is the thread for it.

Have a nice day

My dream is to develope games, which makes fun when I create it and fun when other people play it.

Hi Corno_1

My video and no secret ..
I did it to prove it to myself that a Platform side scroller was possible ...
No dashed dreams here just conformation that GameGuru's capabilities are getting to the stage that almost anything can be done with a little thought
Although not quite there yet it wouldn't take a lot to be able to make a platform scroller right out of the box ..
Here is the real view..

Lee just basically have to add flags to disable panning with the mouse and we would have a scroller game type :p

Nice idea! You can actually even set the camera y to 300 or more, point the camera at the ground and have a top down shooter like hotline Miami/project overkill. That's assuming they put in the feature to lock the camera in place.

And people were questioning why I think we needed more LUA commands for the camera so long ago...

I'm pretty sure Lee was joking here .

Great work here, and with just a few more LUA commands imagine what Synchromesh could do.

Yep that was my take on it ..One of Lee's colourful statements

Nice use of the new 3rd person settings. Now if we get the option to actually lock the cam in place and rotate or move it, we can make all sorts of game views.

Yeah I was testing out the top down view, which reminds me a lot of early 2D Grand Theft Auto games and all that was needed was the ability to lock the camera.

One real obstacle for me is the Camera zoom which is brilliant for when you enter a buildings
But an option to turn it off would also be great .... Its annoying for this style top down game ..
Much better under these circumstances if he just walked under the door
This would also mean platform style like above could have depth movement ...

If the camera could be locked and unlocked that would mean you could have an old school top down shooter with third/first person after docking with space stations or landing on planets, wouldn't it..?

I'd prefer to have a ship flying through space in 3D like Elite though but I reckon we're miles away from having that being possible if at all.

This is one thing I could never understand. I believe that the whole GameGuru change of direction was to open up more game types, and the camera is crucial to this. I have probably come late to the Lua scripting party, but was surprised to find no camera commands.
