Thanks Lee ...Fully understand that new features wont be included in the hotfix and its for immediate problems now but that's better than waiting for V1.008.

Are we getting the hotfix soon enough to be used in our contest entries? If so, that would be fantastic. Especially if you fix the RotateToPlayer function for all entities.

Im hoping the hot fix includes the disappearing buildings we spoke of, Lee. Definitely a show stopper and looks poorly to the public when they see vids or screen shots of it. . . .

@imchasingyou I thought that any disappearing things were from Occlusion mode. I thought you can keep it @ 0 on the slider and things will not disappear. I could be wrong but if it helps I figured it would be worth a shot.

All I know is Lee had stated in an email conversation we had, it was something with third party assets and he has or might have found the problem.

My contest level is crashing. Just as I was almost done. It happens in the standalone and test level mode. I get: FPSC map editor has stopped working, during the initializing physics window. Not sure if this is a memory crash, or a script crash... Any suggestions?

Good idea. So after looking at the LOG I get mostly a DBProODEDebug.dll module fault. Here it is:

"Faulting module path: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Temp\dbpdata77\DBProODEDebug.dll"
"Faulting module path: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Temp\dbpdata30\DBProBasic3DDebug.dll"
"Faulting module path: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Temp\dbpdata29\BlitzTerrain.dll"

Not sure what this means. If it was just the terrain fault, perhaps that could be related to my custom terrain, yet I there is nothing unusual in hoe I created it.

I am getting the exact same thing. In the editor test game, it loads fine, but, as soon as I build it, it crashes when it reaches 'initializing physics'.

It was crashing in the editor test game, but, that was to do with a custom entity.

So, any further advice from the people in the know would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Jay.

EDIT - I just checked the log and I get this

51629706 : saving your level as standalone : 0MB

51634471 : Terminated because 908=1 : 3MB

Not sure if this anything to do with it, but, it might help?

The only thing I can think of is that you might have some files missing in your stand-alone version. I'm not sure how well the engine reports that in log files, but it's worth a look to see if your stand-alone has all the custom media and scripts that you know should be there. I haven't tried stand-alone myself since 1.006 and only did it once in that version so I haven't seen this myself. But now I'm getting a bit worried and am going to try my entry as stand-alone soon so I can resolve any issues I might have.

I'm thinking it is a memory issue. Maybe memory is running out. But it should not. I notice that my memory bar shows only a small amount of memory is use, which can't be the case, and when it crashes the memory bar fills up...

One thing to do as a general practice is to keep backups of various known working versions of your map. What I do is copy the map file off and rename it with the date tacked on. I do this whenever I start a new day working on the project. So, if something goes wrong, I can revert back to the previous version and I've only lost a day at most. That can still be significant, but it's better than losing everything.

If you want to send me your level via email, with any media required I'll see if I can help you. We're pretty good at finding these issues.

@unfamillia: Could you email me full log report please.

My suspicions are a serious memory leak. I just did some testing, and got a serious red memory failure screen in test game crash...

If you talking about the water disappear sometimes in game, I have the same problem

BTW: Is there a way to reduse the transparancy of the water? It's almost too clear as it is now (imho).

When do you think the hot fix will release? Any ideas yet or is there still a bit to do with it yet?

The water issue is the least of my worries. How about just being able to continue editing the contest level I've been tirelessly working on for an entire month. It was so much fun, and working splendidly, because the concept of Reloaded is brilliant; but stopped working suddenly, I think due to what appears to be a memory leak. Now all I get on all of my contest level saves is the red memory screen crash. Sad... I will not give up however. I look toward the bright horizon, and continue, if possible, to finish my level, even if I can not enter it. Bring on the Hot FIX, Cheers!

Those of us who are trying to boldly go where most have not gone before: the recent competition , we are finding that the engine is, for the moment, very limited in how many entities will fit on the grid, until it crashes and burns for good. Try pushing the limits of Reloaded to see how far you can go... Looking forward to the Hot Fix, but might be too late for some of us in the competition?
