At higher resolutions including 1920x1080 this forum is less than ideal.  I enhanced some of the styles and components of this forum locally to make for more suitable usage at high resolutions.  You can see the before and after examples at <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://imgur.com/a/r2X4B">http://imgur.com/a/r2X4B</a>.  Some of the main changes include:

<ul><li>Full-width content regardless of resolution. Currently high resolution displays have a ton of blank space in the existing design.</li><li>More subtle and theme-matching colors for some elements that are currently shown bright white/yellow.</li><li>Re-positioning of some elements including the search, categories list and forum menu bar to accommodate 100% forum width.</li><li>Improved signature styles so they are not as distracting; currently they share almost the same prominence as post bodies.</li><li>Added zebra stripes (alternating shades of gray) to more easily distinguish between each post and topic.</li><li>Should be compatible with resolutions from 1280 up. At 1920x1080 you can zoom to 150%  and it will fill the screen very nicely with larger text.

</li></ul>I did this for my own use, as I do on many sites I visit regularly, but I will share the code so anyone who'd like can use it.  You'll need the Stylish extension, which is available for Chrome and Firefox. When adding to Chrome, you must add: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://fpscreator.thegamecreators.com/forum.php" title="Link: http://fpscreator.thegamecreators.com/forum.php">http://fpscreator.thegamecreators.com/forum.php</a> (URLs Starting With) and fpscforum.thegamecreators.com (URLs on the Domain) so it only affects the FPSC forum.

(Since this forum doesn't seem to support code tags, I'm trying to attach it as a TXT).

I totally agree with what you did there xCept. These forums look flashy but they're pretty much useless.

The TGC forums are far, far better. For one thing, I really hate the enormous button that this forum uses. Also the fact that replies to posts are called comments.

I won't be spending much time on here.

Awesome, just that helps so much! More people need to hear about this As mentioned, is it possible to make it so new tabs can be opened? At the moment they cannot which slows down forum viewing significantly. Thanks

I also would like the forum to use more screen space, it takes up just a third of the screen on my monitor.

I'd also like to be able to go to the newest post in a thread with one click. I'm sure all these adjustments will come eventually, TGC already has lots to do.

@Clonex, @Burger,

The reason you cannot open any particular thread of this forum in a new tab is because the Vanilla forum is embedded into the main FPSCreator site. The forum contains an embed script to primitively redirect the user back to the FP

Why do you need to right click to open in new tab? I Find Ctrl Click easier, and that works no problem (cmd Click on a mac)
