Scripts / Make signs and letters with player input, is that possible?

Hi all,

I would like to include signs / letters in my game where players can provide their own texts.
Something like in minecraft, where you can place these signs and then type a text which is then displayed in the world.
Or even more fancy like in the game Rust to have freehand drawing.

Is that possible? And if so, could you help me in the right direction?

If you are talking about the user typing something while in-game; GG does not have a way to grab user input and place it in a sign.
If you talking about the editor, then you can use sprites.

user input in GG is a bit hit and miss as you need to type very slowly as GG can only really detect 1 key press at a time so it'd probably be frustrating but it is technically possible
you can do it with GetInKey() which will show the current input from the user.

Not yet, GGMax is being developed, however getting user input will come in handy for genres such as RPG, so, it is very possible.
