While scrolling through the library of assets, GGM crashes for no apparent reason. Already verified files, still crashes. Like I have to save after placing any asset, because I never know when it will crash. Anyone else got this?

i got ggmax last month and it was happening to me every time i scroll through the asset galleries until i updated to the new version a couple weeks ago. i thought it was crashing because it was trying to process the animated thumbnails and i was scrolling to fast so it shut down. hasn't happened since the update and i haven't had any problems with the software (aside from some scripts not working) but i have learned to save before doing anything.

It looks like you have a lot of custom assets. It's most likely one of them that's causing the crash. I would try to find out which one it is, then remove it and see if that stops the crashing.

Why should that matter? GGM would suck if you couldn't customize it. lol

Sigh. It can matter because some objects may cause issues for a variety of reasons. So, to narrow that down, LOOK and see if one of your custom models is causing the issue. If it is, then you can report it and the developers can see why that model is causing a problem and FIX your issue. If you want this fixed and working, then you need to do a little leg work yourself. The developers can't just discover a particular issue out of thin air.

I removed all media that does not come with GGM, and the crash is no more. But, should we not be able to use custom media in GGM? Im still looking for the entity that caused the crash.

Yes, you should be able to use custom media. However, there might be an issue with one of the models or one of it's textures/materials. Or it could be something else. That's why it's important to find out which particular ONE is or which ONES are causing the issue. That way, you can actually report this to TGC and they can try to see what's going on.

It's not an either/or situation - i.e. it's not that you CAN'T use custom media in MAX (heck, that's ALL I use in MAX - my own created models) or that you CAN use any and every model every created. Some objects might have something about them that makes them not work in MAX (an old FBX version that's not supported by the importer or who knows?). Or there might actually be an issue with MAX. Which is why this needs to be reported ... once you find the offending object or objects.
