Is it possible to customize your player character in GGMax?
Essentially what I want to do is: say I want my character to have Gumby wielding holding a pipe (or something) in a melee fighting game.
That would require new arm models, new animations, and possibly a pipe, or other melee weapons.
Is there any documentation on this, or a video tutorial?
Thank you,
M

Yes in the guides folder ..
If your using Steam it would be ...
C:\ Program Files (x86)\Steam \ steamapps \ common \ GameGuru MAX \ Guides \
In there you will find a weapons folder with a guide and some samples.
No one ever really leaves.

Diving back into this thread... I looked through the guides... they are helpfull, even if it is a little daunting, but I'm not sure if any of them dealt with my initial question. Maybe that's my fault. I'll try to clarify.
What I'm looking for is a way to customize the FPS players arms that you see when you are holding a weapon?
For example, what if in my game, I want the FPS player to have Gumby arms? Is there a way to do this? All I want to do is change the mesh and textures. It would be great if there was a blend file or a template that we can use.

@Morbott, I prepared a video tutorial showing an easy method to transfer a directX file containing an animated mesh from Fragmotion to Blender.
The second step shown in that video is the export in gltf 2.0 format which is compatible with GameGuru MAX.

No deep knowledge of those used software is required to reproduce the steps shown in that video.
However a good practice of Blender is required if you want to transform the imported object before parenting it to its animation.

Currently the GG MAX gltf importer doesn't automatically include the textures to the mesh.
However it can be done manually.

This is the link of that video uploaded in my Vimeo gallery : https://vimeo.com/755074642
I am sorry for my poor spoken English in that video.

I was inspired by this video tutorial found on YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBSC10euloY

I hope it can help you.
