Nice. Those textures work really well together. Now it looks like a cozy, woodland cabin that actually belongs in the forest

EDIT: Also, big kudos for you for doing what 99% of people who upload their GameGuru games to Steam do NOT do, which is modify the existing stock assets to make them more unique and better suited for your own project.

Can't wait to see what your projects are going to look like a year from now when you've mastered Blender and 3D modeling. Keep at it

@Kraven, I just wish my texture would stay. Lee is looking into why my textures reset after so many saves. I just move the writeable file from documents to my D-drive because my C-drive is almost full of system files. I have all of my software installed on my D-drive which is 500GB and my system drive (c-drive) is 250GB. I hope that moving my save files to D will solve some of my issues with Max. Also, I what to build a unique RPG-Shooting-Puzzle game. I might use some assets that come with Max but I am going for my own looks and changing stuff around, it's called work lol I'm not a lazy type of guy, cheap but not lazy lol

P.s. still trying to learn Bender but I might just pay someone to make me some signs. However, I will keep trying Bender for now

How did you retexture the cabin? Did you just save your new texture over the existing one in the stock assets folder or did you use the model importer to load the cabin's mesh, apply your new texture and create an entirely new object? If you just replaced the existing stock asset's texture, then updating MAX is probably redownloading and overwriting your new texture with the original, but that's just my guess.

I would try making it a new object entirely through the model importer, if that isn't what you've already done

I just change the materials for the cabin, like I did for my signs and photographs for my walls.

I would try finding the cabin mesh in the entity folder and using it with the model importer to create a new object all together.

@Kraven, I will do that as well, just wish you could do it in the editor which would be easier. Thank you for the information and the help.

Still trying to figure out the sign thing, right now I cannot get the U-key to work in Blender to edit the sign, it gets frustrated.

Just bought xPack - Texture Packer by GraPhiX on tgc site. it will help me a lot since I am using png for my textures, thanks again @kraven

The U-key in Blender probably isn't working because they assigned some other hotkey in the newer version you're using. Google the hotkeys based on the version of Blender that you're using and you should be good to go, they tend to change them with every new version, which is why I'm still on 79b.

I designed a unique wall with a fireplace and lit candles on the wall that all slide down into the floor to reveal a secret gun room lol Thanks to @AmenMoses' Glue Behavior everything moves when the wall moves perfectly.

Below is a screenshot in the editor, this is fun. Really cannot understand why people do not take the time to change stuff around or modify it.

Modifying stock stuff is the key to making it unique, yeah, the first time is a lot of tricky, anyway, yourself is going to develop some tech that simplifies all at the time, and someday you discover that it is easiest than you think at the beginning.
Can't help with Blender; nor familiar with it, but I know 1 thing, Blender is a fully capable 3d soft as many big boys out there.
nowaday no one can say that someone can do something because he has 3ds max or Maya, or any other big boy, Blender is perfectly capable and free.

@3com I am using Bforartists which is a fork of Bender. The UI is the same, but Bforartists has a cleaner and easier menu to understand and it saves the files as blend so you can use blender also of it.

In fact, I have made a second sign and uv it already. just need to either learn photoshop for texture or download Gimp.

I use photoshop to fix my photographs, so might try that first before trying Gimp.

Video of my RPG game in action, hope you like it. BTW there seems to be a bug with the Melee behavior in my video. Going have to see what is going on with my fighter before I post it on Github.

The fighter was using a script that I screwed up on but she works great and still kicks butt which I cannot understand. Her health is 500 and my is 2500 and I still losses in a fistfight with an NPC lol go figure lol

I am so grateful to AmenMoses for his help with the behaviors

(NPC is not fighting back because of the mistake above, maybe tomorrow will make a new video to show her fighting)

The damage wall in video is made by Philipp Busse on Sketchfab. Please check his work out, it was a free wall.
