Hi,
Just bought this kit and played the demo level which was......OK, then went into the character creator to create an Aztec looking Zombie and you cannot do it!

You cannot mix and match Zombie parts with say an Aztec headdress or use a spear etc. I thought the whole point of the charcter creator and the power of it was to mix and match different elements to create your own characters, surely Ancient Aztec ruins could have ZOMBIE AZTECS?

Very disappointed if this cannot be done going forward as I am sure in the future we would want that the character creator can mix and match anything that is loaded as a character part in Max?

For example a ZOMBIE future soldier or a Zombie Cowboy etc. As well as a normal Male and Female character.

Yeah thats a huge restriction if the case.
i wonder if that also is the case with custom made parts will that become a huge bug bear or is it a simple operation to change it.
I have made new skins and re-clothed zombies and even made a mummy i have different animals and played and toyed with it a bit but not enough to give advice or confirmation on can and can't suggest someone else can give insight

I think TGC has not thought about a medieval char using a smartphone. (sorry guys, just kidding)
What I mean is that those add-ons should be made to be animated with certain kinds of chars, i.e Aztec weapons with Aztec char, so, what TGC should do is animate each add-on to be used by everyone.

Characters are currently catagorised as Male, Female, Zombie
Just like you cannot put a male head on a female body or vice versa.
Perhaps a question for the Live Stream but i think Zombies are constructed differently anyway so it may not even be possible.

Mostly zombie animations, these are different from let's say, a soldier one.
And since the zombie are not made to run a gun, most likely they has not FIRESPOT bone yet.

No i think its a lot more than that.
Completely different model parts and sizes for each category.

Yes, most likely it should be created from scratch, and animated accurately in order to be able to use any gun and/or any mesh part, so, you can make a Frankenstein junior lol.

The Aztec Game Kit has messed up my copy of GameGuru Max. I am not reinstalling it... again! I'll wait til it's out of EA and work instead on my SHMUP Creator project.

Mmmmmm I understand you have 3 model types with 3 animation sets, but adding head gear to a model or a set of armour should be fine in my opinion. Should be like putting a tattoo on a male or female. If it is not this flexible then what is the point of a rigid character creator as all creations will look the same and all games using this method will look and act the same. Not a very flexible system if you ask me.

Im guessing a womans legs with a skirt on a mans body etc was assumed something users would not want to do.
each catagory has its own scale for example the females waist is thinner than the hunky guy .. Its not just about clothing.
They each have their own components created for each category but as i said worth asking in the stream for explanations.
However it is pretty flexible and i doubt anyone would want to seriously create anything like this

I hope they fix the walking on the spot thing, BTW.

Having said that, I can no longer even launch the app due to assimp.dll.

this reminds me of a fatal error I, too, had months ago.
It had to do with a misplaced folder with binaries that assimp tried to import (looked like assip was told to import "*.*" instead of an explicit list (e.g. "*.x;*.fbx;*.dbo" and couldn't handle it).
Description and solution was only on Steam, some time around Feb / March this year.
You might want to check that .
