Scripts / Script question in Max

I have just started messing around with Max and I imported a survival script into Max, everything is working as its supposed to .The script is supposed to decrease as you need to eat drink ect and that works . But only if I'm within 50 feet of the object I attached the script to .
I do not see any variables in my scripts related to player distance . Any ideas ? Thanks

try make it always active in the developer panel of the entity properties (should be along with the behaviour and other properties etc)

Why on earth is this a *developer* option? I can't imagine a scenario where I attach a script to an object and would rather have the "just run my script when you feel like it" option.

Either make always active the default or put the selection right there where you make an object dynamic rather than static!
