Been gone for a while. What is the current status of GG Max? Is it in Beta yet?

You have been gone awhile! GameGuru MAX had been released as Early Access software on Steam back in March 25th:

It's still Early Access and will be for some time yet, but it's getting a lot of updates (mostly bug fixes right now).
