G'morning! I was wondering if there's a way to hide the terrain completely. I'd very much prefer to use assets of my own and lay out the world my own way then deal with the procedural terrain MAX provides. Somehow my PC struggles with it?

Would be good especially if doing a space game infinite none terrain with an occasional planet that links to a new world level and back again
Space genre would be a total new angle for gaming

At the moment, the best you can do is, when you get to the Terrain Generator select Empty. This will produce an Empty or blank terrain for you to work on. It's a flat, grey grid. However, it's still "terrain" in that you can actually switch to terrain editing mode and sculpt it, paint terrain textures on it, etc. I use Empty, ignore the grey grid, and build my interior levels there.

There have been requests on GitHub for a truly "Empty" level with absolutely nothing in it, but they've not added it yet.

Although you see nothing on the map, there might be something as a reference point (not for the user but for the engine) so, they just have to hide the empty terrain plane, and give you the sensation that there is nothing there.
