Hi, since updating to GGMax Build 2022.04.08 my fps are now much better. I only have a GTX 9070 and prior to this update my fps could drop to 21 and probably lower sometimes thus making games unplayable. Now I'm getting low 30's in most scenes and upwards of 40 in some less complex ones, essentially I would say 30fps on average. This is still low of course but now usable so thumbs up for this release of GGMax! My GPU is old and a little dated but the price of new GPU's at the moment is prohibitive for me. I saw a second hand GTX1080 in a highstreet shop going for £500 which in my opinion is too high when brand new GTX3060's are cheaper online, but still high. It makes buying one of the next gen consoles quite attractive in comparison even if the PC GPU has a little more speed.
I have very simple tastes, I am always satisfied with the very best.

Well if you go the console route you can only play games made by others.

With PC you make your own which is way more fun.

Ideally MAX needs more optimisation yet, so hopefully it will improve for you in time. Outdoor scenes look nice but performance is still pants if you want any kind of detail - MAX just can't handle it ATM.

If you stick to indoor scenes, so trees, grass, and terrain aren't eating all the resources you will get better fps.
