I myself(in classic) have long wanted the ability to remove unused objects from the level objects panel as I like to place objects in the world just to see how they look. I'm sure there's probably a way to do it even if not so user friendly(a list of used assets somewhere, maybe editing the level file somehow, etc) what I've started doing is just create another level, or a duplicate of my production level so I see what an asset will look like in game before adding it to my production level. There's also a fullscreen preview feature by clicking on the square icon at the bottom right of the thumbnail, but that's not always good enough, sometimes you just gotta see it in the world. I am going to go poke around and see if they can be removed from a file somewhere, will report if I find something.

Unused objects in your Object list will disappear when you save your level (CTRL+B) or when you exit and restart MAX.

Thank you for replying and sharing the experience you had while using the old Game Guru Toxicclowd

Good to know that Argent_Arts, if this is true, then it behaves exactly like Blender in this regard, cool cool, thanks.

Interesting, this seems to be the case for one asset I'm using, but not another, wonder if I accidently placed an instance somewhere I can't see it. Anyway, I did find a list of assets used in the level, but modifying it doesn't seem to do anything, so that's that I guess, lol.

You accidentally bring up another big issue Toxicclowd, how DO you remove all instance of an object at one time if we can't right click and delete on the library on the left ?

In Godot, CopperCube, Flash [yes macromedia Flash, all the way back babies], deleting something from the library will delete all instance of it, or at least in Godot and Coppercube's case, you can right click and delete from the left panel, what about GameGuru Max ?

You can't delete them from the Object List. It's just a list of things you've been adding to your level for ease of use to access them for repeated use. Deleting objects in MAX is done via the view port. However, sometimes things can get lost in the view port. There is a way to find those objects. First, click on the right-side arrow in the Level Objects panel to get a drop down and select Detailed Objects list:

Then you should see all of your objects displaying like this:

You can twirl-down each category and by clicking on any one object, that object will be selected in the view port and the camera will zoom to it. You can then delete that object, if you want to.

Sorry. I forgot to say you have to enable this function. Go to Edit>Settings. Then, in the Advanced tab, tick the "Allow Selection of Detailed Object List":

After ticking that, you should find the option you're looking for.
