Quote: "I still don't like the way it strips out the grass you've already painted to paint a new grass. What if I want grass AND flowers? I shouldn't have to load both grass types into a brush, I should just be able to spray flowers in amongst my existing grass. "
While considering you can currently paint up to 6 simultaneously, it really isn't a problem, just wasn't shown in the video. In other words you can select the default grass type for the area and select the flower type and paint that together, meaning you can paint more then one grass/flower at a time.So you only overwrite the grass layer if you don't have it selected, and technically you could load the same grass type 3 or 4 times along with a flower type which would result in a overall better result.
But you can also changed the density. As you can see by the image it is extremely thick and bushy. You could also change the decal grass type that will show up thicker, the decal texture is usually 4 or so grass blades, there is nothing stopping you from creating a grass texture with more grass blades.
Grass in the internal build is still pretty much broken for the most part, but it is looking much, much better, I can't even see the terrain textures from this angle.
