Why is it such a pain in the A... to change the loading screen script and to get GG to display more than just one picture while game is loading.
I am talking about displaying one picture and after a couple of seconds then displays another one while game is loading in the loading title screen. I have got it right to change and manipulate the sounds to play a different song with every title screen, but nothing i have tried work on the loading screen .

Did anyone have any success in displaying more than one loading picture while game is loading?

It looks to me like loading.lua is executing a loop whilst the game is loading, try changing the g_sprBackdrop in that loop.

To start with I'd just Prompt the value of g_iLoadingCountdown variable.

Hmm, scratch that, the Prompt doesn't update.

Will need to experiment some more.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!

Ok so appearances were deceptive, loading_main does not get called whilst the level is actually loading, instead it gets called before the level loads and simply gives a 10 frame delay for some strange reason.

Once StartGame() is called Lua is suspended by the look of things until the actual loading has completed, the engine is updating the progress bar internally rather than via Lua!

I even tried to change this 10 frame delay. but it did not work. haha.
i could get it right to display a second image but then that image kept on being displayed when the game is running.

I am working on a standalone version of Menu Creator, I will look into what I can do for the loading screen,
I did manage to change the 'processing core files' text to a user changeable text.

I think Lee intended (assuming he wrote it) for the loading_main to be called repeatedly during the actual game load, but looking at the game engine code it is rather screwed up. There is a function that updates the progress bar, if that function called loading_main and the progress value was stored in a global variable then loading.lua would be actually of some use.
