Why do i see a horizon outline when i zoom in with this gun. See video

How can i get rid of it. Even on a plain map when you zoom in you see an extra Horizon out line.

Any help much appreciated

Kind of looks like the reflection in the scope glass a bit.
The way it moves opposite of the other image.

So how do i get rid off it.
The refection change depending on witch sky box i select, with some sky boxes i also se the reflection of the clouds as well in the scope together with the terrain reflection.

Could it be because you modified the scope settings ?
My zoom isnt that big so im assuming you have tweaked it.

I have reloaded the original gun spec , so all is standard , still seeing the horizon and my scope still looks the same.

Errant AI does have a Weapons discord channel somewhere
Could be worth searching it out and asking him directly.
But it may be just for Beta Testing .

BTW..
I have not edited anything in EA's weapons but the stock sniper rifle also gives a huge scope and i do not see the problem using that one .. Have you tried that on your map just to see if it is the gun with the prob or GameGuru itself ?

It's a reflection off of the back lens on the magnifier. You don't see the same on the stock hunting rifle because it uses a 2D overlay when zoomed in. The AR uses a 3D model so that it can have the holographic effect with the dot when you are moving.

There are a few ways to reduce/remove the reflection. One way would be to cheat the gun closer to the camera via FOV adjustment when aiming so that the glass is behind the camera/clipping plane...

Edit in gunspec: alt simplezoommod = X to be something lower than the shipped setting of 2. I'm pretty sure you can make decimal adjustments. This may have other side effects depending on how much it's altered such as weird clipping while shooting or shift in point of aim.

Another option would be to edit the texture to dull the reflectiveness of that piece of glass or adjust the alpha channel so that it is completely transparent. Not recommended unless you are familiar with PBR and .DDS formats that need transparency preserved but is least likely to break things. The only downside is that when you are running around, not aiming, it will look like there's no glass on the optic.

Third option would be to switch it to use a 2D overlay instead of the 3D model like the hunting rifle does. Unfortunately, I think this will break primary firemode aming because last I checked, it applies the overlay functionality to all firemodes. It will probably have other bad visual side effects as well since the animations are tuned for 3D aiming.

In a perfect world, we'd be able to adjust the shader when aiming and/or have proper probes instead of it just using the skybox.

@Errant AI. hmm, thanks for the advice. i don't think i would be able to do some of the recommendations you gave.
But thanks for setting time aside to get back to me.

edit:.
Maybe my son can help me with the refection part.

Tried to erase the scope reflection, but it does not look good when i aim.
