I'm new to scripting, I've already saw the spawning video tutorial but it didn't help so if please can someone show me how to do it real quick?

place a character, name it "npc1", set it to spawnatstart = no.
place a trigger zone, set 'ifused' to "npc1"
test game and walk into the trigger zone

*the name doesn't matter but it must match the value put in the 'ifused' for the trigger zone
