I've been wanting to make a game for as long as I can remember but never made one.
I am interested in making a game like portal, Is this something I can easily do with Game Guru?
I currently don't have Game Guru and do not know if I should buy it, Should I wait until GameGuru Max gets released and buy that instead of OG GameGuru.

Should I wait?

No. You can absolutely teleport or fly the player around but when it comes to opening portals and actually seeing the space you will enter reflected within, that is not quite doable.

Your answer seems to be yes you can & then no you can't.
Which is it?
Your answer is quite confusing.

@bbacle
Yes they can go around the map where they want but I just don't know if they support obverse angles. So you would probably have to obtain custom animated assets in place for very specific areas of the map which might be secret and not at all points in the arena. Portal does it everywhere, isn't that true- which I haven't seen played for a very long time. PS3?

Yeah can't think of any tricks in GG to accomplish a portal type game. Really need a second camera and a way to render that onto the portal. It could be done in AGK I think, but as AGK is what I think of as a proper programming language, the extra options make it extra hard to do everything.

It's amazing how everyone wants to make a clone of a top seller as their FIRST game. Well, not that amazing, but seriously, try to think smaller, making games is difficult, even in GG. Back in the day us more mature members had such game making tools as Pazzaz, which I wasted a good chunk of cash on back then. Rubbish, but let us know in no uncertain terms that we had to learn to code to have any chance at all, lol.

The Speccy one was even worse.

Awesome dances!
People still want to do the same thing, but in an evolved way... and for more diverse reasons.

I still find myself using Twine and/or Bitsy, from time to time. So many tools. Not enough time!

@GubbyBlips. Looks similar, but a little more advanced than Pazzaz. Also, NOT labelled as a game maker The blurb was make your own games! Choose from a selection of graphic styles! It cost about £30 back in the 80's and you could literally make one of 2 or three characters dance with a choice of 3 backdrops! Nothing else. It was as you can imagine, a bit of a let down. I was hoping to make some sort of platform game at the time lol.
