What I did:
1- place a barrel and locked it.
2- Place the particle out of the barrel
3- I raised the particle marker almost to the middle of the barrel.
4- I placed the particle inside the barrel.
5- change the default particle for the smoke particle.
6- unlock the barrel.
GGMax places the particle marker at terrain height, so, is so difficult to work with.
