Will there be a new version of the AppGameKit Studio Particle Editor for GGM or will the one that's available now be ok?

They will probably just rebrand the current standalone version from the Website im guessing
It works perfectly well.

Thanks synchromesh, I was thinking of getting it, but no use getting the "old" version if a GGM version was coming out.

They may have an offer on it when the time comes though.
Could still be worth holding out unless its on offer now of course
If you do make sure you DO NOT get the steam version .. Only the one from the main Website supplies a Standalone version.

Particle editor works fine with Max. Been playing with some snow in it.

Looks way better than built in snow effects and is smoother as well. Apart from the fact my script makes it follow you round. Although, I'm so used to old games doing that I stop noticing after awhile. It's good enough for tests though.
Oh and here is something I got going in AGK while testing it. I think people will like the cool effects that can be made. Way, way better than the old GG particle system.

Well worth a look, especially if it is on offer.
SPECS: Ryzen 1700 CPU. Nvidia 970GTX. 16 Gig Memory. Win 10.
