_gloss and _metalness

I understand what they do, but I can't recall...

_gloss White means high gloss and black means no gloss ??
_metalness White means surface is metallic and black means non-metallic ??

Do I have this right ??

Should these files be in grayscale or RGB format ??

Check out the tutorials section Belidos had a great guide to texture sets.

In GG the _gloss is actually a roughness map, not a gloss map, so black is glossy and white is rough (no idea why Lee switched it like that, but that's what we have to work with).

_metalness is the metallic texture with white being pure metallic and black being non-metallic.

Bother are gray scale.
