in the lastest TGC newsletter is mentioned that GGMax will take advantaage from Particle Editor actually only available for AGK Studio..

but in the newsletter itself it's mentioned that it will be usable form max too...

my question is ..
if i eventually purchase ONLY the Particle Editor... do i need AGk Studio in order to use it or itis a standalone software and it could be used without AGk studio??

You do not need AGK in any form to create particles for GameGuru Max
It can be purchased as a standalone from the main Website. ( Not the Steam Version )

Some work fine - others scale is too big, and currently no way to change it in MAX.

Also atm adding any particle to editor will crash MAX to desktop.

So best not to use particles at all for now....

No, the new MAX particle system will not work with Classic but the classic system is extremely powerful anyway, in fact in some respects much more powerful than the new system in MAX!

The biggest question for me is whether the Classic system will still work in MAX, one thing I know will not work is the ability in Classic to change the shader used on a per emitter basis, my understanding is wrt MAX is that all your particle effects will be forced to use the same shader.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!
