HI all, finally i was able to download Max with the Small installer.
So just a quick question, with the last Build, are we supposed to be able to load in our old projects / maps , in to Max or does that future not working correctly at this point in time.
Reason i ask , i get plenty Errors if i want to load in Any old GG classic maps.
If an old map is supposed to work and Max Can not pull it in correctly, would it help if i copied in All the entities in to Max, and if so does it matter were it goes in to max Under the Entity Bank folder or not.?
Can Anyone please Advise how is it working for them if they want to pull in or load an GG classic map.

I wouldn't attempt to load any old maps as Max is still very early, none of mine work properly.

try the stock maps, works for me (though of course with limited features)

Of course! you should have all the entities in GGMax>Entitybank, at least atm, I recall something about GGMax coping all the map's entities files automatically, in the future btw.

Your fpm file point to the entity's original paths, nor chance your fpm finding your meshes in another place than GGMax>entitybank, at least atm.

Although you can edit your fpm files and change entity paths to the new one, not an easy task and need you to know what are you doing.

Thanks for all the info.
I have tried to load a stock map, but also with no success

Ps.: Well at least there is one good thing i have found out. I can run GGmax at this moment, with my NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 card, but the fps is very low.

With this last build is the lua scripting properties disabled or do i need to unlock it, because if i select an entity i don't find the tab for the scripting.?

Or in 'Advanced' for some strange reason. Pita if all you ever do is assign scripts to entities!

What would be preferable is:
If instead of all this sophistication looks attempt at MAX that is trying to move away from
GG Classic, to look prim and proper and highly advanced, okay then better would be you
click an object and up on the left panel comes a list of all the scripts you have recently used
in the project, select one, and viola it's assigned. That's a better "sophistication".
Some of us people use scripts, and some of us use MANY per level- so help us.

BTW, gotta say I really like what I see in MAX last vid. for object selection and placement.

Yes i would like something like that, left or right click to get an extra menu open for scripts or texture or what ever you want.

If i want to scale a door in Max and i select on the entity then the 3d arrows are always on the bottom of the entity like this


so to align the door nicely if you want to or have to scale it you need to zoom in like this

The problem is when you want to scale upward then you cant se the 3d arrows to do the fine scaling because they are always on the bottom. Is this going to stay like this or are we going to get the function back like in GGClasic were you get the 3d arrows were you click on the entity.
Please change it , if this is going to stay like this
If not and , Lee you are going to change it back like it worked on Classic please let me know.

@PCS You can scale an object on any or all axis when you select the scale option, so you don't actually have to see the widget itself to fine tune. But I agree that the widget staying visible when zooming in and out etc would be better for people who are used to that for adjustments.

It has been tucked away in the settings.

@DVader, Yes i know i can do it. .. its just , that as you say its better if the widget can stay visible or even be reselected if you need to zoom in and have to fit in a door or a wall or whatever with fine tuning.

@PCS : Having the widget pop up where you click was a nice touch in Classic. Please post this as a bug in GitHub and link it here, and I can contribute there and assign it to me
GameGuru Classic will continue to be supported with bug fixes and functionality additions.

I was struggling to get used to the no widget method mainly for that reason.
Great to know now it will work like classic
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..
