Quote: "GGmax will also crash if you try to select the [Particle] object that is already placed on your level.
So you cannot even delete it from your level..
luckily the [particle] was one of the last things I added to my test level.
So I could go back one save to reload it without the [Particle]."
If anyone is having trouble with this and didn't have a backup (naughty
) you can do this for now:
1) NOTE: DON'T do this if you are not comfortable with editing files on your system
2) Go to Program Files\GameGuruMAX\Max\Files\entitybank\_markers
3) rename or move Particles.bmp, particles.dbo, Particles.fpe, and particles.x
4) Run MAX and open your map with the particles in it
5) save the map
6) close MAX
7) Reveres the changes you made in the _markers folder
What this does:
Because you have move\renamed the Particle they will not be loaded in your map, so they can't cause the error.
When you save it it won't have those models in the fpm, so you can safely open it again.
Note you could also just delete the files mentioned and after fixing your maps, Verify the installation and MAX will put them back for you.
But as mentioned it has been reported, so will likely get fixed by next release - so you may just opt to wait til then
