Hey,

just for fun I played a little bit with Asset Forge.
To use it is no problem.
But I don't get the .fbx export in GameGuru with the paintings/textures.

I have no problem to import it in Unity3d. Drag&Drop the .fbx File is enough.
But not in GameGuru.

Anybody here who used Asset Forge and GameGuru with success?

Did you try the model importer , if you have no luck with FBX you will have to convert your models to X

Also check the export settings , never used that program for models so I’m not sure what the export options are

Hi Granada,

I try the importer i GG itself. I can import the model and save it as .dbo and .fpe... but no painting or texture is recognized by GG.
Asset Forge did export the textures. But GG don't care. While Unity3D is importing with textures.

In Asset Forge I can export as OBJ, FBX, DAE, GLTF and STL. I can choose export with or without textures, the Orientation and the Scale.

The Model exports great but all is grey.
In the Windows10 3D Viewer App, I see everything fine. Even the textures. Just GG is ignoring them.

I attached a little FBX file at this post, for testing.

Hi
I don't know if I helped you with this, but your fbx had a material assignment, but no textures required if the model is mapped. If you have textures for this, you have to assign them to the model via the fpe file. Unfortunately, GG does not take on this task. Nothing can be changed even with simple coloring.

Hi,

I have the texture (nothing great)
But why does GG don't take it?

The bmp, dbo and fpe where created by GG.

Now will it work with the object I created?
I don't know Asset forge, so I don't know how this software handles the created objects, but I looked at the uv-map. Actually, there can be no reasonable texture for it. There were certainly a few colors assigned to the model, but GG can't do anything with that.

What is the reason GG can't do something with it?

The model itself is showing fine. The one from you and the one from me. Only any colorthing is missing in GG. Just in GG.
I tryed unity, unreal engine and the Win10 3D Viewer. All are directly showing it with colors and textures (both mixed). Is the GG Importer lagging at this point, course different fbx?

I have now carried out a quick uvmapping it is very simple and not effective, but it fits the model. Now the almost 3300 tris should be visible in color. I also took a look at the asset forge website. You can really just put something together there. But there is no mention of the fact that the thing also works with GG. There are several versions of FBX alone that do not harmonize with one another. What do you expect from the FBX converter to GG

I expected something just working, like in all other engines.

I'm not a good graphic guy, I'm a coder. But ok, Asset Forge is really good to have tiny models in a fast way.
I think then Iwill colorize it in Blender.

Thanks for the help. I just tested it for fun, nothing important.

There is nothing to thank. If you can work with Blender, this is a good option. I wish you success.

It has always been the case that models without texture or parts which do not contain a texture are not visible in GG so the added color has to be on a texture for the model to be visible.
