Hi All,

We are looking to hook in direct access to third party stores for the various assets you may need when creating your games. We are currently looking at Images and Photos provided by third parties, and we are looking closer at Envato:

https://elements.envato.com/photos

It would be included as a button each time the software browses for a 2D image, giving you more choice. The downside is that there is a 15 euro subscription on their service. It would be ideal if we can find a free one. Feel free to comment on this idea and let us know if you know of a better store, perhaps more suited to game images such as signs, posters, floor decals, etc.
GameGuru Classic will continue to be supported with bug fixes and functionality additions.

Here’s a few free PBR texture sources:

And maybe you could find these useful for the menu editors:

Is this to help TGC direct new GG users to lots of places for free assets, rather than just the TGC store? This can help new users find a lot of starter content. I'd imagine filling up the TGC store would also be helpful, but this way helps GG games not have such a distinct and shared look, by encouraging using the same asset database.
Maybe this will help starting users think outside the box, not bad.

Great. Not sure how this will be used in the context of GGMAX game creations. Is this for "Image zone"? Billboards? Something like that? Is only one site allowed? Let's be sure we aren't only finding photos (imagination dampening of Earth bound limitations), but the site has access to creative artwork/ 'illustrations' and video. If we stick only to Photos, the games could still feature the same, most favorite photos any site has to offer.

Here's a little free site. All it offers is some patterns, but someone might find them useful?

BTW, we can't forget:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page
Which is actually contained within a much larger consortium of sites found here:

https://picryl.com/

Supposedly all public domain... no credit required.
But I'm assuming that these sites are a kind of "rabbit hole" where the search for all
these millions of media are not too straight forward!! ??

Gubby, I think this is so TGC can put together a list of resources for new users so they can start working right away with lots of free assets. This is better than the current solution of only having the TGC store, because GG ends up having a very inclusive look based on the assets available on the TGC store.
By opening up what they inform new users they can use as assets, new creations won't all look like stock GG games that use TGC store assets (if even that). Folks will be directed to other internet resources and games won't be so identical looking, maybe.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

TGC is taking the user by the hand through the GGMax universe, with all kinds of help, so why not suggest new sources of resources to the user. I believe that the user will hardly be able to say that he does not know how to do a specific thing.

Anyway, once the resource is downloaded, I don't know what the next step will be (inside GGMax I mean) unless it only works as a suggestion, and that's it.

If for example there were a decal generator feature and the user chose the texture that he wants to use, and GGMax generated the decal, then I would understand the purpose of the idea.

It might be some sort of listview with all the suggested links and the ability to add your own, generate some sort of log file when close to filling up the list again when re-open. imho.
