In GG Classic, Text you enter into the properties field of a Text Zone will not save and doesn't function in test game. This is odd, since it used to work just fine. Anyone else have this problem?

I have restarted the game, I just removed and reinstalled the game, I just rebooted, and it still doesn't work. Am I missing something? I've been away from GG for a while, working in Unity, but came back to check out MAX, which is not at all ready, so I was playing with GG Classic and found this not functioning.

Edit: Just verified through Steam. No change.

Just found this: Sorry.

Why hasn't this been fixed? It's a very ridiculous workaround that was functioning perfectly well before.

The actual textzone marker was added later and isnt all that great ... Why .. No idea.
It also uses a texinzone.lua in the markers folder but seems to differ as does the zone.

Try it the good old fashioned way.
Place a triggerzone
Attach textinzone.lua from the scriptbank
Put the text in the Name field in Properties. That should work perfectly also with any sound effect you add.

With the default text zone the text you want to display actually goes in the audio slot not the text slot, the text slot was something they started work on but dropped.

It looks like you found the fix.

If you wanted to use color text in that script you could do something like this ( see attach files )

I removed the promt and added this for color text TextCenterOnXColor(50,50,7,textinzone_name[e],19,236,19)

the first 3 numbers is, 50s are x and y cords, the 7 is the text size. the last 3 numbers are color codes you can find here https://htmlcolorcodes.com/

I don't really like promt, it only shows white and only shows at a set location. Doing it like this will give you more flexibility with color, size, and location
