I have a problem. And it's not the first problem I've encountered . Sometimes I get this issue where game models will turn into gigantic messy blobs of buggy looking mess in both the editor and the stand alone. I had a wild theory that perhaps TGC was uploading a bug or virus as away to discourage user made content or perhaps it's an anomaly created by steam, and they were hacking into everybody's program. Because the same thing happen when somebody tried to copy of the Half-Life 2 disk and when they tried to play it, The character models would turn into a walking pile of vortex looking mess and the anti-piracy software built into either steam or the game engine was causing the program to act funny so nobody would be tempted to copy it. So... Can anybody identify this walking puke that's messing up certain game characters at random ?

invalid vertex data - often caused by bad weights if the model is animated, keep practicing and you'll get there or try a different program, i hear UU3D does a good job for GG models.

if TGC are selling viruses they are doing a terrible job - some users have been around as long as TGC have..

Smallg is correct, the vertex weights in the model is messed up.

Try adding this to the FPE file.
skipfvfconvert = 1

And yet the silly little program that I use tells me nothing, or tells me the weights are just fine. Thank you for your help.

By the way where in the fpe do I stick skipfvfconvert = 1 ?

Hi Rj, you can insert that line anywhere in the FPE code.
Also what shader are you using?

try this one if your using something else:
effect = effectbank\reloaded\character_basic.fx

Also make sure you have this:
ischaracter = 1

This is all good and I thank you for the help. However, somebody please explain why the stock characters, The terrorist that carries the RPG was all in a vortex mess as well as my characters I made from FBX2GG. Then, A year ago a few characters from the creature pack I bought from the TGC store a while back also experienced the same bug/anomaly. So they all have the same issue ???! When I had to reinstall fresh I lost everything and had to start over again but the bug went away. Then it came back. I'll try it your way but I'm not convinced that something stinks in the land of steam/GG. I'll post a small video of another problem I have. Just a small video, I don't want any of you trying to copycat our ideas and claim it as your own. Were not "THAT" stupid. And were not trying to be mean or rude. I didn't spend all this money and waste man hours on this game project to have some snotty kid from la, la land checking out our stuff and then stealing it for their own project. Now you all know why we don't post any of our work in progress on the forums.

I think wip is inspiring andnifnsomeone attempts to do similar to one of my projects i take as a compliment and if it is really good and looks impressive it inspires me to do better which has been the case. This helps to up the game on other projects which makesnhogher stamdards which helps sell the engine which brings more budget to make a better engine
And to be honest most ideas have been done now so the only things you may have as unique is game ay which you dont have to give too much away.

Hi Mr.Teabone, Your resources are awesome. To answer your question, I'm not using any shaders. Just when the engine came with. But I will take your advice into practice and let you know what's up. Some of you have a point. The engine is what it is. But were still not taking any chances. However, In the interest of peace keeping and continued cooperation and help, I guess we can release some video and pics to show off something. I'm not above anyone and I have no indention of dumping GG like a serial killer dumps a dead body after taking a chainsaw to it, Pun intended ! Mr. science boy where do you stand on your game project ? Mr. OldFlak, I'm having to work on this project all by myself now because Covid-19 has caused my team and I to split up and go our separate ways. I'm unemployed, and we have nothing but Chaos and Anarchy over here in the U.S. I just buried one of my relatives last week. And just so you know, I'm still working on the FPSCreator project which is the first part of this three part game trilogy. So please, Don't tell me or anybody else to ditch the engine and try another one.

Sounds to me like you just shot yourself in the foot, i wouldn't be surprised if you don't get any more help from here with that kind of attitude. Just a bit of advice, if you want people to help you don't insult them, it's basic common sense.

This forum is not Steam.
They be a friendly bunch around here that are willing to jump through hoops to help - but insults won't work.
We are NOT interested in ripping your assets. Many of us here develop media from time to time, and post it for others to use for free!

You know, I've been making games as a hobby for a bit over 10 years and until now, every time I see someone concerned about someone "stealing their ideas" before being able to finish a product it was either complete generic garbage no body would raise an eyebrow at anyway or mediocre at best. Considering what I see here and your attitude, you don't appear to be the exception to this rule altough I hope you can show otherwise in the future.

Im engaged if you must know and been in a relationship for near 4 years and she is not to a computer model. This has not offended me at all. If anything it shows immaturity and i did laugh. I do think you need to really improve on your game and the quality is horrendous.

As to my game. Im Waiting for gmax to kick in so then I can really create a game.
