hi:
my hope is that every one is with good health and pease
i want to ask about how to make a water fall...
i have gone to all free models and media
and found that DEVCORE has ofered free media packs about decals including a
waterfall...when i go to the link ...it apears
the file you are trying to download is no longer available..
cause:
invalid url
file has been deleted by the user{owner}
so i have been trying to find a water fall but not so.
LAFAYETE has one but it is not animated.
I have his dam program but the decal has many sections and i can not use it..
I have been testing with the decals that GG has.. i made a test with the white smoke decal
using it lookin down..but it is not very good
i made a waterfall test that i
go throug it.. pass the waterfall and go to a cave.
i tried to upload as a zip file but didnot was acepted it gave a error
so i dont know how to do it. the same as a movie like i have see in
the forums.
if some one can tell me how to do as a movie then i will try
the same with the zip file
so as i asked before is there any waterfall that i could use?

You could make one perhaps with the particle creator (agk particle creator) which is supposed to work in GG Max. I mean, who knows if they'll keep particles in. Things seem to be changing a lot with Max, but if particles actually work, you should be able to craft yourself a waterfall.

I made one with AmenMoses particle script.

It's not to hard once you get the hang of it.

as others have stated the best option at the moment is particles



This was a quick basic throw together, i have attached the particle sheet and a lua file to this post put the lua file in scriptbank, the water.zip file contains a particle place this in your \effectbank\particles\water folder so you will have:
Game Guru\Files\effectbank\particles\water\wf1.dds

place a dynamic always active entity on your map and attach the graphix_waterfall_particle.lua script to it

just downloaded the water zip and the particles
i will make a waterfall test level
and see how it works
another question how do you atach a zip file?
i try to do it and i came with an error
and could not post it..
and how you did the you tube video
i want to know so if have a video showing what i did
is better than a long of words

i use like you said an entity active the white smoke
in properties i use the graphics waterfall particle lua
but i dont see the particles decal
what i have to do to use this particle
since i canot see it?

You have to put the water folder that GraPhiX gave you into the particles folder.

that is what i did
scipt lua to script file
particles to efect bank/particles/water/ww1.dds
but i have no efect
i did what is says to place a dynamic always active entity on my map
and attached the graphix_waterfall_particle.lua script to it
but noway i donton know what iam doing wrong

where did you place the entity? the entity is meant to be placed where you want the waterfall to be so try moving it up and away from the terrain just to check there's something actually happening

this time i use an active decal
put the script on properties
It worked

Mmh, you can do a lot with the particles. However, I still use decals directly for waterfalls. The foaming mist can, however, be visualized well with particles. I put together this waterfall from several elements. It includes the rock created for it, the waterfall itself, of course, the spray where the water meets the surface and a bit of water surface foam. You can simply assemble the waterfall using the grid and then move it all together if necessary. You have to distribute the remaining elements yourself. I could have this package available for download by tomorrow at the latest if you want ...
