See attached image:

The Slider is at 7 but I have 3000 draw calls at some spots of the level. The camera slider is not working.
I have removed every custom script there is.

What file handles the camera distance? Please help me, this is a serious issue.
I reported to github weeks ago already.

I was able to track the issue and find the source of it.

The camera distance changes to 100 when the player picks up a weapon.

I was able to find out more:

When you press 0 to put the gun away, and then change the value of the camera distance again in the tab+tab menu, it will stay.
But only until you pull your gun again.

Strange but at least I was able to find out what's causing it.

Now we only need a fix for that

Doesn't happen for me.
And for reasons relating to an ongoing project-- I have remained
way back in Dec. 2019 build. I was going to look into it, but since
it doesn't seem to be a problem, I doubt I'd find the location.

Well...

How many lines of code are in your gameplayercontrol-- anyone?
--wondering if there's much difference--??
Mine has 1900 but around 50-52 lines are probably self- added.

So, you are using an old version?

Can you possibly post your gameplayercontrol.lua ?
I could test if a replacement would fix it-

I took a look at the gameplayercontrol script and couldn't see anything as a likely culprit so I reckon it's in the engine somewhere.

Possibly something to do with the merge with MAX code and VR support?

Seems a damn silly bug to have introduced whatever caused it. (a bit like RPGs not working in standalone!)

yea.

Anyway, it's a big issue. The framerate suffers a lot from it.
