I use my GG classic through Steam. Steam has done a good job with updates, and I've even bought a few other games from Steam. There are times that I have concerns about having steam looking over my shoulder as I use GG Classic.

There seems to be a lot of skepticism about GG Max and Steam here in the forum. I've already pre-ordered, and played a little with the GG Max Alpha. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to wait on the full release while I finish two GG Classic projects I'm working on.

I'm thinking now that I will get GG Max as a stand-a-lone, not through Steam. Wondering what others feel about this subject. Is there a way for me to get a current copy of stand-a-lone GG Classic, if I decide to leave Steam?

Have not noticed that ?
Its just a choice if you do not want to be tied to steam.
I still have 80 odd games on steam and am now buying the VR Stuff so im not fussed either way.
Like GameGuru it may run from the .exe anyway meaning you can bypass Steam altogether.

I'd prefer not to have a fractured forum system where many users never get to see the "real" work being done on this side and only the grave yard that are the steam boards. Its not up to me, but I'd prefer it not to be on steam... although I am fairly certain that it will be on steam.

I do the same, just running steam to run updates.

1st I don't like steam
(collecting games, with boxes and manuals...)
But I've changed my order to the steam version... for easy updates, so I will not miss an update...

Old school FPS fan, DOOM!!! Why GG not working on my AMIGA 500?
