Multiplayer in Max will be exactly the same as it is now in GG classic, the only difference will be that instead of it being played via steam and requiring all parties to own gameguru, it will be played via photon servers and they won't need gameguru to play. That means unless they decide to make more changes later; no lobbies, death matches only, and no custom scripting.
It's the same with everything in Max apart from the features promised, it will be exactly the same functionality as gameguru classic. The key differences will be; 64bit, new rendering engine, new terrain editing tools (including various brushes, and the ability for the terrain to increase as you build), dynamic lua and new GUI. Other stuff has been added, and will be added, but the core functionality will be the same as gameguru classic.
