Recently, I've had a hankering to go back and play some classic FPS Creator titles from back when I was an active member of their community. Nowadays I work in Game Guru and, for all the improvements Game Guru has made over its predecessor, there was always something indescribably alluring about these old FPSC games, so I've decided to start an infrequent and informal YouTube series where I play some of them. I'm not usually a fan of Let's Plays with commentary, but since I've now got nigh on fifteen years under my belt working in TGC products, I feel I can actually contribute to the debate and can review these games with some degree of authority, as opposed to the vast majority of YouTube which mostly just tends to immediately pan them for being FPSC games.

Welcome to FPS Creator Classics, where we take a look at interesting and original games created in FPS Creator. I'll be posting new episodes as and when. I'm also always on the look out for more titles to play so feel free to drop some suggestions. Hope you enjoy!

I’m enjoying these AE - great retro flashback to FPSC and insight into the skill of the developers working with what they had available.

Hope you’ll do a few more.

Cheers.

Maybe FPSC had video and audio actually synced together properly?

I think it did and so did GameGuru ..
The problem was MS taking the player out of Windows.

Thanks all, I'm really enjoying playing these games.
New episode is up btw; Conker Bunker, possibly the oldest FPSC game you can still play.

I still have some pretty obscure FPSC games if you want to check them out. They're quite fun and interesting

@Avenging Eagle, very much look forward to every new episode of these that you do, and I hope you can keep digging up the classics! The nostalgia tingles are wonderful. Wouldn't mind seeing you start another series similar to this one for Game Guru projects.

Really, I just wish there was more FPSC/Game Guru content in general to binge to on YouTube.

FPS Creator Classics is back (well, a few new episodes are coming). In the latest episode, I decided to play the follow-up to Bugsy's OPS: Escape by playing OPS: Hong Kong. Check it out here or watch the full playlist of previous episodes here.

@DareESP: No I only created one of them - Acid Factory - all the others were made by other talented developers in the FPS Creator community.

@Cobbs: I probably won't do a Game Guru classics series anytime soon because a) I'm not as nostalgic about Game Guru games, and b) there's not enough decent ones about. It's tragic how few truly great games ever got finished using Game Guru. Hopefully Max has a higher hit rate!

List updated to add the latest episode, Squadron AIU - Dark Storm.

New episodes for season 3 have been added to the first post. We now have playthroughs of two excellent horror games, Alpha Project, and Phobia 1.5, as well as a rare example of an FPS Creator X10 game called Space Warrior.

Lol, watching the Phobia one and when you first came across the word puzzle I saw the letters and immediately saw the anagram solution, probably my misspent youth doing the Sunday Times crossword in the pub way more than I probably should have done.
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!
