@LeeBamber, All,

I've owned DBC, DBPro, AGK/2/Studio, GG and no doubt GG Max (and yes, I owned AMOS back in the day!). Was wondering about just how moddable and extensible GG Max will be in terms of an Action RPG game - in terms of perhaps customisable items in inventory, dialogue, quests - or is that pushing it too far away from its core design / reason for existence and is that still more AGK Studio territory still?

Thoughts?
a long time dabbler with DBC and DBPro with no actual talent but lots of enthusiasm...

Basically GGMax continue being a shoot'em all style game maker. However, if you are a hight level LUA scripter you might make your own style of game, ie: RPG style. This might break a bit, the Game maker for everyone, maybe it should be the shoot'em all game maker for everyone.

IIRC there is no inventory system in GGMax, at least not for non-scripter.

About the dialogue system, GGMax comes with a very good convo system, take a look at their webpage.

Anyway, I'm very happy with the looks it is going to have, and yes I'm aware it is the same as GG nowadays, with some new features.
GGMax is not rendering PBR as is, but using a PBR view system than mimic PBR for almost all items over the map, this a temporary stage due GGMax is in early development.

Hmmm, yeah. Seems like that is the way they continue...
How strong is the built in game save and re-load?? Will it encompass custom
assets, scripts and game play?
I haven't tested the viability of setting parameters for data that is already in place.
It would be nice to have a little more help from MAX developers on game save
and load these custom style games data. I know this has been discussed in
small circles briefly, and script help has been supplied by nice patrons of GG.

But any notice by the engine developers and some UI system to assist all working
users in this regard would boost tremendously the appropriation of new game
types into GG MAX.
Because no matter how well you plan and build your levels, no matter how deeply
you script your game play, if you cannot save and load all that is important, then
you would have to play the same game over each day from the beginning.

It just does not exist yet, Your asking questions that can only be speculated on at best.
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..
