I notice the zombies sometimes just run up to me (first-person) and stand there waiting to be killed. It kind of takes the challenge out of it. Does anyone know a fix?

Many thanks.

I've seen the zombies sometimes get stuck on the terrain or floors. I'd try to eliminate the cause (floor tile, bumpy terrain or whatever else may be the issue) Does it happen totally randomly? Or at certain parts of the level? Does it happen on an flat map with nothing but you and the zombies? Is it a particular type of Zombie that gets stuck?

I was seeing how many I could have running about the other night and only saw them stuck in place a couple of times, and that was always on a jagged bit of terrain. Might not be related though just luck of the draw possibly.

Yes, they sometimes get stuck on terrain (or on the edge of a paving slab set to be walked on). However, this is different; it seems to be as if they get so close to the player they no longer see him...? I reduced the camera distance (to 10) for performance - could that be the culprit (doubtful)?

It seems to be all zombies and I have not been able to isolate any specific situation.

This is a worry because I saw a GG-game on Steam criticised for exactly this issue.

I think it is: if player dist range = a to b then attack, but 'b' just is not always reached. Is that possible?

Probably. 10 isn't enough .. Try 100

Thanks. I was trying to explain as a Lua layman (which I am) in hopes someone might know which line(s) need(s) altering. (e: )

'10' or '100' are probably totally irrelevant - maybe this issue is just hardcoded with the zombies. I am simply asking for advice.

Actually 10 will be far too low, it would mean you are inside the zombie. I've found a distance of at least 50-100 is best for the minimum. If you have it set to 10, it will never trigger as you will never get that close.

Not really... Set to 10 you would probably need to be close enough to bite his toes to get a response

are you talking about camera draw distance from the tab-tab sliders? this has no impact no impact on actual gameplay, only if you can see stuff on screen or not.
