I have found that making grasses transparent makes the grass used in GG less noticeable that it is made up of multiple images in a defined pattern. (Helps mask the image edges). Grass can be made transparent using paint.net. If you view the video full screen you can see how the transparent grass helps soften the transitions between the tree base and the ground.

Still looking at ggMax for things that might need to be improved along the way. I have noticed the lack of proper rendering inside of buildings, it don't represent lifelike lighting. Shading and shadows will need some work. There is lot to like though about most of the current features.

Just taking a look at custom entities for now...
The attachments below are from GG Classic, illustrates how the transparent grass/ground cover help transition the tree bases with the terrain.
Also shows a few new trees. Plus decent shadows and shading on the buildings and terrain. Check it out ....

Screen shots that show how semi transparent ground cover helps meld the entities together at ground level.
The attachments also show several new tree I have been working on.
Let me know if there is any interest.

Also need to know from any MOD if is this is the wrong area to post...

New trees

Question: why are we still stuck with only being able to attach images in the post EDIT mode...

@GubbyBlips
It does make for an interesting ground effect , helps transition the junction of terrain and 3d entities. Here are a few samples after a few ground cover scaling efforts. This latest transparent ground cover also has the effect of getting rid of the harsh transition from flowing water to the shoreline edge.

The transparent vegetation really worked near the tree shadows. I guess veg height also needs to be set to small

In the screenshots the grass settings are as follows... (tab, tab, quality settings panel) and in the graphic options panel (vegetation =44).
The vegetation height =89. The vegetation width = 77

There are several possible settings for the grass that give acceptable results...

Screenshots using a different transparent ground cover below. You might try the video at full screen for active moving ground cover.
