Hi All,
I've been battling to get you an Alpha 2 build tonight, but it seems I need to convert almost the entire LIB archive to 64-bit before I can get the most simplest EXE to build for you. As I complete one, three more pop up that require conversion. For this reason, and the minor addition that my own management bod advised I do not release anything half-baked, I have decided to delay the release of Alpha 2 until my management team agrees it is 'suitable for release' which pushes it into next week. Sorry to everyone expecting to play with the new Alpha this weekend, but if it is any consolation, it would only have been a stability and 64-bit test of the new EXE stub running under Wicked Engine and the IMGUI tech folded in. I also wanted to share our terrain streamer prototype too, but although we have solved the stability issues, they require adding to the proto before we have something we can demonstrate publically.
I am sorry you got a forum thread instead of a download, but it seems the fates are against me this week. I will work through the weekend to see if I can make up some ground, and hopefully have something for you next week. I do like to hit my promises, but this one made a rather large mess all over my office wall, so hopefully I can pick up the pieces and deliver something for you to play with before the end of May.
Just to iterate a comment I made in a previous thread, for the next few alpha builds, they will be functionally less capable than the Alpha 1 demo as we will be stripping the old engine out and adding the new one bit by bit. To this end, do not expect the alpha 2, 3 or 4 to be able to recreate the Cellar Demo you saw in the recent YouTube video post, as that was a demo of the assets rendered under the Wicked Engine, and not running through the GameGuru MAX alpha. Also, if you are expecting alpha builds that do not crash or import your game projects without issue, best you avoid all alpha builds and wait for the 'beta' status which indicates the builds are 'function complete'.
GameGuru Classic will continue to be supported with bug fixes and functionality additions.
