Needed something to do... so playing around with MAX characters (limited as they are). There are problems to be sure, but it is early development... kind of fun. You might need to adjust volume.

I wonder how many talking vids we will see over the coming months I can't quite see text to speech being overly useful for pro type projects. Good for tests I suppose, but unless it get's way better not really very authentic or realistic. I've heard there's some incredible text to speech these days but not heard any myself.

Nice video though

Couldn't agree more. You can also just record voice using a mic. I can't get mine to work.

The mouth shapes need a bit of work, as does the range of expressions and gestures a character is able to emote. That's not a criticism of you at all, it's just something I hope TGC refine for the full version of Max.

I certainly agree. In playing around with the new character stuff. I am kind of looking for GitHub improvement requests when the time is right.

I have gotten my mic to work, at last. Recording voices are way more professional and satisfying. Converting text to voice leaves bit to be desired.

I guess TTS is good for placeholder stuff , you can then later add proper character voices using the mic.

Playing around I set my PC to record the sound card directly
play any sample you want on the net
As mentioned above you may need more volume ..

I'm meanly looking for lip animations and gestures when reading the audio file, then use these characters with my own voices. Of course Microsoft narrators are not the best, at least for me.

This is great work from TGC, Lee and team. It's exactly what we have been asking
for- so they went with it.
Now, what would increase the variety of this even more exponentially is Characters
outside the human form-- at least some alien faces and bodily features; though I'm
sure they would have to stay within a certain frame to be animated correctly.

But with that, you could do Star Wars, Star Trek, Warcraft, etc style games!
