When editing the terrain in top-down mode you can use the cursor keys to move the camera up / down and left / right. When in 3D editing mode the up / down cursor zooms in / out. Is there a way to be able to move the camera up / down without zooming in / out?

I mainly want this for GGMax but wasn't sure if it was already possible in GG "Classic".

Does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense. It would be useful. If others are confused, just imagine riding an elevator straight up and straight down, while still being able to pan the camera in any direction...
Your elevation is controlled while your lateral position stays the same, like the ground view effect while turning the mouse wheel.
I mentioned it once. Kinda surprised it's not been placed. There are plenty of empty keys on the keyboard--

For me, < and > isn't acting in '3D' view, only top down- one press at a time.
Mouse scroll wheel 'zooms', but not pure elevating vertical.
I'm sitting on December version.

Don't "A" and "D" move sideways in GG and Max along with arrow keys as well just out of interest ?
Does that not give the same result .

I believe the topic was regarding straight vertical elevation movement...

Just to make it clear.

In top-down view the up / down / left & right cursor keys move the camera up / down / left and right over the terrain with the camera locked in position in height.

In 3D mode the left / right cursor keys move the camera at locked height, whilst up / down zoom in / out over the terrain.

I'd like to move up / down over the terrain in 3D mode without zooming in.

Just saw someone post this-- it wasn't you, MadLad Designs?
Syncro? Well '[' and ']' are the keys. At least in the December
classic GG, which I have my project underway in... can't speak
for anything else.
