Hi All,

As you know we have been releasing Sneak Peek's of GameGuru MAX ever other Wednesday, and it was decided by the team here that we should pepper every other Wednesday with 30-minutes (hah) live broadcast to cover the progress of MAX development. This way you get one Wednesday with a formal video and the next Wednesday something a little more casual and relaxed, delving into the innards of the progress of the previous 7 days.

We are happy with the day, but we are interested in what time zone you would like to work to? This will be an open discussion to see what the majority favor. When we did our Twitch broadcasts, it was 4PM GMT which allows American to wake up to it and Europe to finish work with it, but this might have been the worst slot for those who work during the day. It could be we rotate the time, but that would get confusing and it's good to know a single time so you can tune in regularly. Of course the live event will be recorded and posted on YouTube, but if you want to ask questions during the broadcast we need to determine a time.

I plan the first broadcast for Wednesday 22nd April, a week after we release the Alpha Build, so we have plenty of time to work out a, er, time

I will start the pitch at 4PM BST (which is 3PM GMT) and allows me to do my day, do the broadcast, then go get something to eat. I can do later, but that means the broadcast is in the middle of the day for the US, and I can probably do REALLY late here in the UK, so US has time to get home. Let the discussion begin!
GameGuru Classic will continue to be supported with bug fixes and functionality additions.

Yeah. Some in retail, manufacture and obviously health care are all working as usual. I think retail workers should get a bonus during all this.

I'm good for most times on the time slot front.

I'll just add ALL workers should get a bonus for this Retail workers get such low wages though and they are in the front line! They have to serve everyone!

Care workers also have poor wages and are due a bonus imo. In fact they should be paid decently in any case

@Dvader retail workers aren't that badly paid now days, well the ones in the bigger chains aren't, Sainsbury's staff basic is £9.20 an hour now, which isn't bad for shop work. I work in facilities management on a fixed salary and working out my hourly wage that's a lot more than I'm on.

i hear what you are saying, but it is not simple or was not simple
the government only give you half of what it takes to look after someone full time and depending on the complex care needs it may be even more, the goveenment have been shocking regards care funding, something has to give so do we starve the residents or give them no staff or no nurses or any other costs like tv electric gas washing clothes or domestics or where do you get the money from? this is why half of the homes take private and not local authority, its because of the government. i see what the care staff are like they are pure gold i will always defend them but if you want to throw pay rises which i respect as i agree then take it up the the head in the clouds government, they are the ones who have been letting down the carers, i also agree that companies are also making money but then its privatisation which was brought in more and more as councils shut their homes down as the council have realized its not profitable or sustainable and given to private sector... so yes i agree give pay rises but its mostly the government..

hope this helps you to understand the realms of health and social care. half of this issue is the fund cuts over the last 10 plus years. and now its finally come to light after years of neglect from the uk. and a clap does not cut it they are risking all for a government that did not and still probably doesnt care. but thats politics sadly.

Here in Spain, even in Catalonia, many elderly people have died in nursing homes due to the pandemic.
Because of this, politicians are proposing to make public, private nursing homes.

More people confined to home equal to less infected, but also the economy suffers.
Fewer inmates home, more infected people, many more deaths, but the country's economy will not notice this fact.

A great dilemma for the governments of the countries of the world.
Now we are at war, but then the pos-war period will come, and it will be much harder.

Watched the vid. Great news!
But -- "high resolution shaders..."
Unfortunately this ran only at 360p with no higher options in my browser...
It was pretty hazy even for a early live showcase vid.
Was you aware of this Lee?

In a bit of time, maybe you'll want to place a HD showcase of the lighting
and PBR visuals.

Not much he can do about that, he's at the mercy of YouTube and the internet, he was very likely running 1080p but YouTube reduced it for bandwidth reasons. If you watch the saved video and go to the quality settings you can view it in 720p which should be better.

i missed the live due to work but watched the vidoe now and i saw some great news about engine but (rant mode on)hope this will not end like good old reloaded gone when greats first videos looked gorgeous and after final builds sadly not (rant mode off)

since Lee talked about terrain generation system hope it will be reworked at all and will be more similar to the first Gg iterations when i remember i got some great landascapes automatically generated differently the current GG version ...Perlin noise and too many others algorithm generations are needed

and a question

since Max will use Wicked engine it wll have all great wicked engine features like cloth simulation, gpu particles, shadow mamps , decal rendering and so on?

The wicked engine looks amazing, and coupled with the new UI, it's going to be so easy to create maps and levels. Some questions for Lee.

Will all our existing lua scripts work with the new engine as I see Janus the Wicked Engine creator has a list of lua command on his github page.

and

How will Wicked Engine handle all the older non-PBR assets, like the ones from the store?

and

Will our maps load up, in some form, maybe some tweaking may be required, I know a bit early for such complex questions, but I'm looking forward to seeing this come about. Hats off to Lee.

The lighting looks amazing too.

Check out the page below for more info on the Wicked Engine. The stormtrooper, screen space reflections and bistro videos are some of the best.

What i'm really looking forward to is the new terrain system, the node system he described is going to make a huge difference, although it does't give us huge open world maps, it does allow for us to have multiple maps in one "map", which means instead of having 4 maps with a load between each, we could have all 4 maps in one and using transporting scripts can give the effect of an open world.
