Yeah flashlight is pretty daft atm - always been like that....
It just puts a big white spot on everything...

Hopefully it is on the bug bash list....

Not sure if you're meaning how to get rid of the colored halo - if so, drop the tab tab slider Lens Flare Intensity to zero.

Cheers.

@OldFlak. Doubt it. Is it even considered a bug? More an old fashioned technique that has never been updated since release

Yeah, sadly probably not.

But I have never seen a flash light in RL act like the one in GG:

so I just hope it is seen as a bug.

In settings.fx we can lower the lens flare intensity and adjust the maxflashlight.
I don't know if it is still a requirement to have 'pbroverride=0' in the setup.ini in order to make changes to the settings in the fx file.
You have to recompile i believe by setting forceloadgameshaders=1 in the setup.ini and when changes are done, set it back to =0

There is a little problem which i've spotted while testing, the flashlight seems to only properly illuminate at the sunside.
But apart from that, i think the flashlight works ok, this object has metalness from black to white.

Yeah, Looks ok in that pic for sure

I have heavily lowered the PBR settings in FX in order to get lighter coloured metals to look ok in current PBR setup - they get total washout with default settings using light colours.

I have also lowered the lens flare in settings FX , and lense flare in tabtab is only 8. But in all my tests thus far, the flashlight is not at all good on light coloured metallic surfaces.

I may have a play with the flashlight settings in FX and see how it looks, but will most likely disable it for this level.

Be cool if in GG Max we could have flashlight lens textures (cookies).

I've tested this in GG as hud but it doesn't have the same effect as it doesn't draw on surfaces. Just a hud.
