Not at this time, with the current engine configuration. It is possible by customizing the engine code from GitHib. But that is way above my knowledge.

Thanks for your reply Myke.

Than the second best would be to create another waterplane i think.

Well, i got this far, transparency and color tomorrow.

I think that it should be possible to create a rivershape and having the waves follow that direction, i'll see tomorrow if i'm right.

It is possible, but only with changing the source code.
In the M-Terrian.cpp search for the line "// Make Water plain"
https://github.com/TheGameCreators/GameGuruRepo/blob/master/GameGuru%20Core/GameGuru/Source/M-Terrain.cpp

then go to line 4642 and Change

to

for a doubled sized water plane.

But this costs performance and is only ingame. The editor will still show the normal plane.

Cyber converted the old fpsc shader for me from dx9 to dx11 which works but did not have the same effect.
I have been playing with it and this is the best result I have had so far.

Really cool for me.
Assume you convert shader to hlsl 5.0+ to get it working in GG

My intention was to just give it away to all once I got it to a reasonable standard …
Perhaps someone else could play a little more with it. Im pretty useless with this stuff really.

I agree with everyone, this looks very good already.

I'm hoping to get a decent result with this and when finished i'll upload it here.

The uv is not good because i cannot straiten it, the 3dsmax licence did expire more than a year ago, but i think the waterflow of the river is quite nice.

Anyway that prebem shader is really cool to achieve it.

The shader I would like to bring back is the videotexture_atlas.fx one. This shader mimic river behaviour with just 1 water texture, moving pixels randomly.
Do you remember "Flowing Transparent Water" using "waterfall.fx" love that water effect.
Most of them are achievable now with prebem shaders.
I hat the advise you get when using old map running some of these old shaders and GG crashing withou given you a chance to fix it.
"Shader must be hlsl 5.0 or higher" .

@3com some nice shader's coming out of the woodwork I take it that one no longer works?
@Syncromesh. Will certainly have a play about with it later today. Just been working on the AI a bit for my beat em up attempt.

Entity_water.fx still works, that is indeed the shader i'm using.

The downside is that from one angle, i believe away from the sun, it looks less like flowing water, just a flat plane.

Here is a river scene using the water options found in the test mode using tab, tab then making selections from the water panel.

@ Dvader
Yes it does, look for "entity_water.fx" on reloaded folder.
Edit: adding some vid - min 1:10

I'm currently using a normal texture for the effect but Preben released a water texture with the water shader and i don't seem to have it anymore due to a faulty hdd.
Is someone willing to send the water texture?

A lot of time ago I do not play with, but I recall Prebem usually sit their shadeers on water_D.dds texture, it so, you sould have it on Reloaded folder. I usually use my own texture, just take your mesh and the entity_water shader ant test the map, it is a bit such trial and error till you get the tone you are looking for.

Oh, yes that texture is present but it does not give me the water effect, just a transparent plane or entity.
If that is the texture which Preben provided with the shader, than i do still have it.
