Quote: "They have a national minimum wage like we do in the UK, it's R20 per hour, or R3,500 per month depending on number of hours, if i remember right. So for anyone on their minimum wage it's the equivalent of 18hrs pay.
Considering in the UK at our minimum wage (£8.21) the price of it is about 3hrs on minimum wage, they get a really bad deal over there.
(edit: that's assuming the 50% discounted price, it's going to be a lot more without that)"
Got nothing to do win min wage.it isn't like half the nation is earning min wage, and only applicable to certain jobs, and hours worked. The exchange rate is the problem, R14.00 to the dollar, some thing like R21.00 to the pound, even then it isn't an issue, it is basically the price of a night out in town, or a meal at an upmarket place.
The bigger issue is the target audience are mostly under age, or people not earning money yet.Min wage gives the false impression of earnings being low, unskilled workers like the rest of the world gets paid less, and that is what the min wage is targeting.
Exchange rate is the issue.
That said TGC has regional pricing and gameguru at full price is R171.00. Ordering in September will be about the same as now, and will a launch discount slightly cheaper even.Rather dumb to be ordering it now for SA guys as you will likely still be paying more then the launch price when launched on steam with regional pricing.
If you wondering with regards to regional pricing it is done specifically in areas of the world with high piracy, or high exchange rates. Russia is the cheapest region to buy steam keys for, but quite often russia steam keys are region locked as they are the cheapest keys in the world as well as to stop reselling of keys for profit.
