I get an error when loading GG on my Windows 10 Home Premium.

Runtime Error 0 Cannot Initialize DirectX 11 ()

I have Run my DX Diag attached to this post.

It states I Have DX 11.1.

There is no downloadable Package for Windows 10 for DirectX nor manually installed updates.
I found this same issue on Windows 7 but it seems no solution is documented for Windows 10.

Any help is appreciated.

The first thing we need to confirm is whether your card is DX11 compatible.
Even if it is the Intel HD 3000 Is a very low spec.

Here is the best way to be sure …

Click Start->Run / Windows 10 type run in bottom left search bar and hit return

• Type in "Dxdiag" (without quotes)

• Press Enter


Click the Display tab
---------------------

• Look in the upper right

• For Windows 7 look for "DDI Version"

• For Windows 8/10 look for "Feature Levels"

If you do not see "11" in the "DDI Version or "Feature Levels" line, your video card DOES NOT support DX11
If it does then there are other things we can try.

Yeah that won't work mate he has a NVIDIA GeForce "GT 525M", if you actually read the DXdiag properly.

Second issue is the windows 10 build is "1024" from 2015, it isn't even being supported any more. Unfortunately gameguru gives none specific crash errors in general.

He needs to update windows 10 to the current 1909 build, and try again. If it still fails to load, then he needs to start installing the dependencies gameguru rely on.

Requires vcredist for 2010, 2012 and 2015, in order to run correctly.

But mostly he needs to update windows.

So indeed your card is DX11 and you should update windows but this did work on the version your currently using.
Humour me … Install this and reboot then try again... if im right then great .. If not nothing lost

I missed nothing He mentioned windows 7, since windows 7 support ended a few days ago, it is irrelevant. As updates and fixes are no longer being supplied for the operating system. If you haven't moved on from windows 7, having had ample notice, of support ending this month, sorry, Good luck

Since mentioning windows 10 and his dxdiag is from the windows 10 OS, it is the only thing that is relevant at this point until he posts a dx of windows 7. That said considering updates are automatic and still being stuck on the very first public version of 1024 is scary to say the least.

It is indeed but only enhances my reasoning for that particular platform update .
Of course he still needs to update windows anyway and I cannot assume to know why he hasn't … But for now... Today and if im right then that should have a positive result. Like I said if I am wrong then nothing lost.
