I assume you haven't used it recently, third person isn't glitchy or buggy (at least i can't find anything wrong with it that isn't just a lack of a feature), the last actual bug that i recall being reported was fixed in the last update (clipping issue), it now does pretty much what it was designed to do. Some people are doing some pretty good 3rd person isometric games with it lately
What you are looking for is more additional features, which i agree would be great to have, and to be honest the forums isn't really the best place to ask for them, most of the development has shifted over to GitHUb now, if you are looking for additional features to be added i'd suggest opening an issue on there and putting it in that.
Although to be honest the chances of getting anything in the next two years is slim to nil.
