Make sure your Windows 7 has all the latest updates …
Then add this Platform update .. https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=36805
Reboot and try again ..

Ok were not done yet … Had to try that first …
Now reinstall your DX9 Runtime files from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8109
Same process … install, reboot and try again

Your OS may be DirectX 11 capable, but that does not mean you can run DirectX 11. A major component in running DirectX 11 is your graphics card, what graphics card do you have?

Primary Desktop:
i7 7700,k NV1070 8GB, 16GB 3200mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Secondary Desktop:
i5 4760k, NV960 2GB, 16GB 2333mhz memory, 1x 2TB Hybrid, Win10.

Primary Laptop:
i5, NV1050 4GB, 8GB memory, 1x 1TB HDD, Win10.

Secondary Laptop:
i3, Intel 4000 series graphics, 6GB memory, 1x 500gb HDD, Win8.1.

I Edited your huge post as this was the only bit I needed ..
If your getting those errors trying to install DX9 then there is an OS issue
However what Gfx card do you have ?

Well the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 is around the minimum required spec.
But in all honesty it looks like your Windows has issues that are giving you problems

Hello old timer!

The "HD Graphics 4600" is your gfx card. A graphics card. This device is basically what displays the images on your computer. Now 3D stuff requires a lot of computing power, therefore most of us game enthusiasts have dedicated cards.
Now, the 4600 with one gig is an integrated chip kind of card and on the lower spectrum of what you'd need to run Game Guru. It should still launch but you will most likely experience lag (that is when the game seems more than a slideshow rather than a smooth, fluid experience.)
Direct X is a software run-time package that adds program libraries that 3D apps like GG source from and need to have in order to run.

As for your error, I can't really say. Not an expert on computing myself but was 3coms link above any helpful?

If not, is your OS up to date? Installing an update might help. Also, don't worry, installing microsoft direct x packages should not damage your OS in any way.

Besides, out of interest: What limitations did bother you with FPSCreator? There is a modification for that program out now that fixes a lot of them, in case you want to give it another try.

Cheers!

HI: wolf
the limitations that i talk is of the kind of making land skape
like in GG..
there are mods that i have downloaded and i can not use it
the board goes blank. example i downloaded castle pack and i cant use
tropical pack ,weapons pack 6 , cave kit, green nature this i can use
thats why i was going to try GG.
by the way like synchromesh said i have an OS problem
that i just found,,when he said to have all my updates
i tried to download them and i couldnot, the updates fail to update
i ran win update trouble shooting it says that the problem were fixed
but no way i could ran an update
this is toomuch for me,,too old to try learning again 76years old vietnam vet.
and to try tampering with my computer is a no no.
i have had in the past made a lot of errors, that i had to do a clean reinstall
that since this is working well i dont want to tamper it.
thanks a lot synchromesh and you too wolf for your help
this old man. but i will keep working with fps creator version 1
since i have seen about the other versions but cant find where to download them
so very pleased to meet you guys,, keep the good work,, a lot of best wishes to all of you and famyly
a loooot of good health
i retire from this forum
thanks alot

Hey Nazco!

I see! Yes, it sounds like the only way to fix this would be another reinstall of the OS and I can understand why you wouldn't want the hassle of doing that.

And yes, landscapes in FPSCreator are not recommended. Its just not cut out for that.

However, FPSC version 1 is really unstable so I can link you to the full install and a ton of free modelpacks! CLICK HERE
TGC made it all freeware a few years ago, so now you can just install version 1.20

by the way, I am also very fond of FPSCreator, I recently made a new game with it if you are interested. See here.
