With winter setting in, I am working to upgrade (create new oldshack buildings and re-texturing) some of my shack and tree libraries. I will add images to this thread as progress dictates. Check in on occasion and let me know what you think...

edit 02/7

I think the struck text above may have been misinterpreted. Not looking for praise, just thinking out loud. "dead end is a dead end"
means I have run out of ideas for old shacks and will try to find another series of model types. Suggestions for new shacks or improvements to existing ones are always appreciated.

The current shacks range from 400 to 700 poly's, well within my goal.
Forgot to mention, I now have over 40 of these things.

Just made a new discovery... Make the grass and some of the bushes semi-transparent. This melds those elements into the landscape with out the hardline cartoon effect. To get the full effect run the video in full screen. Note some of the original bright bushes have been left.
The semi-transparent grass and bushes make the fact that they are made-up of individual planes less noticeable.

Old HOUSES right after I add the new OLD SHACKS and new TREES to the store.

EDIT/12/20/2019

Exploring a new photo storage site called www.cubeupload.com. Seems a little slow on the upload but beats photo bucket with all of it's server problems. The images below are using said storage software.

I am still trying to get photo bucket to work, with no success.

The Photobucket site is not working... down again, for now I give up waiting. Even when the site is up the software does not work.
I can't help but notice that some of the images in this thread using my photo bucket saved images work while others do not.

I will try to also use a couple of attachment files for the moment.
Rather than double posting on this issue and stepping on other users toes I will just edit this post for a while and hope those interested will check in on their own. I am trying to develop several new grass images.

Starting to develop a library of abandoned deserted houses. The old house shown in the attachments has 712 polys.

@Tarkus1971
Thank you very much... we aim to please. (That's the royal "we", means me)
I think I have dug myself a hole I am having trouble filling. I need to clean up over 35 "old shack" models and about 20 some new trees and about 10 "old houses". When I retried umpteen years ago I had no intention of ever creating deadlines/responsibility pressures...ever again.

It seemed like a good idea at the time... oh well. I keep adding stuff. Like curtains to the interior

Here are the poly counts for the 2 latest old houses:
old house 1 (the largest house) = 718 polys
Texture file = 2048

old house 2 (the smaller house (fewer windows)) = 367
Texture file = 2048

Edit 01/10/2020
Added attachment showing the latest revisions to the smaller old house.. starting to like what is going on with new textures and transparent glass.

I am just a little slow at solving the transparent glass problem. But it now seems to work on multiple windows.

I don't think it's a problem that can be solved, it's just a quirk with gameguru, I don't the no transparency is ever going to get fixed properly.

NOTE
I am going to continue adding the latest model work to this thread post until posting activity by others happens. Not wanting to hog forum time from other users. So if followers any are interested … just check in when you have time.

@ Tarkus1971
Thanks for the reply...
Please be aware, I've been following your thread on Free Media, good work! Lua is so confusing for me at the moment.

@Belidos
I think transparent windows are possible but It's creation just does not make a lot of sense. If the surface used for the windows is created in the modeling software and then added to the building while in the editor it works. This procedure is about as cumbersome as it can be.

I have found that my modeling software allows me to create both the building and the included window panes as part of the model thus doing away the editor snap process. I am required to put the "transparency=2" in the FPE file. Preben gave us a new transparency number of "8" but "2" works better for me.

Attached screenshots illustrate successful transparent windows, at least to my satisfaction.

@JC LEON and others interested in the new models: They are not yet in the store. What is in the store is my pack of oldshacks, not the same thing. The new "HOUSE" models are a couple of weeks away. Sorry, did not wish to imply they were in the store, yet.

Each week I sit down with a definite intent to prepare the models for the store but...
Each week I can't resist making revisions, so the store waits and waits...
Could not resist taking a look at interior images and fussing with the stair connection between floors.

Example of a few new old houses. Kind of waiting for information on how new ggmax will affect the store products versus ggclassic.
my understanding, based on current information, there will be no real impact... Right??
