thanks, can't take much credit for the style as i'm using a great reference image set for the theme

edit; noticed the arms are wrong in the idle so i fixed those so it loops correctly
the model is 1.6k faces / 3.2k tris so probably my lowest poly char yet
doesn't work correctly in GG as usual but maybe one day

decided to make a church to go with the halloween models, didn't turn out too good but as it's my first building i think i learned a lot, i'll definitely need to remake this in future though.
it's not very poly friendly considering it's pretty basic, i tried to make the slates in a not so smart way, i think i'll make them manually next time or just make a few and paint the rest, also the unwrap got weird so i had to use the auto unwrap which meant i didn't get to do any fine texturing... still might be ok as a background model

remade the church, this one is only 3.5k tris / polys so much better
i should have triangulated it before i textured it though as it kinda messed up my details
edit; fixed the weird warping thanks to belidos who suggested the split edge modifier in blender

Did you put smoothing on? If you did, then before exporting add and apply an edge split modifier, that should fix the warping on the tower.

lol, i doubt it but it's fun so that's all that matters

i did just to see if it made any difference but i turned it back off, i'll try it anyway and see if it helps
edit: yep, edge split fixed it right up, nice trick, i'll update the model in the previous post, many thanks

made some more quick toon style halloween models to fill out the scene with

Wow, that's quite spooky, they're almost identical to some models i made last week, i made them following a 10 cars in 10 minutes blender video, was great fun, we must be watching the same youtube videos

They look great btw.

If you mean this then yes it's what gave me the idea to try make some (though I followed a different reference image, how different can low poly models really look?) - He's very good for beginners, quick but still using only simple shapes and commands to make cool looking models

Yup, that YouTuber is pretty good, another one i watch regularly is Level Pixel Level, he's so clear and concise with his explenations, and also Grant Abbit is another great one for Blender.

not seen any from Level Pixel Level so i'll have to check it out, grant abbot i have seen though, his low poly work is awesome and when i started learning blender he was the main resource - his hand painted textures are really impressive... but takes so long to do it and mine never look half as good.
i like Imphenzia's texturing method, its so simple and quick, never considered it before i saw him do it and as i now know the basics of blender the quick videos are great for just getting ideas and seeing what can be achieved without needing to really go into huge details

or the bike i made - it has 3 parts - the main body, the wheel and the handlebar so you can animate it by script if you're feeling adventurous
also the main body has a separate colour texture so you can easily change the colour

doesn't like the animation in GG but works fine in blender 2.8 and 2.79 so i gave up trying to import it with animation - attached is the version without animation

Man, dude! These are awesome, and you'll see them in my game--
if you do share them!

BTW, I keep hearing everyone talking about Fragmotion.
I'll suggest it to my bro who is delving into Blender also...

Oh the upload button doesn't work now? Weird, I did attach them but I'll add them to Dropbox later or something
ok so saw a post from march saying editing and uploading works and yep it does so the models are now available

And yh I have used fragmotion but it's not for me, blender is great... GG just sucks at importing models with animation :p

broke the mech up into parts so you can use it better with scripts - i started some which will give you an idea of the use

torso = mech.lua
legs = mech_legs.lua
weapons = mech_weapon.lua
if you have Max you will be able to adjust the settings in the editor

p.s. i do have some more weapon variations to add, just haven't imported them to GG yet

keeping with the warfare theme i made some basic modular battleships so you can have some naval battles
the guns, radar, platforms, cabins and base are all separate so you can easily and quickly create many variations of boat and allows you to rotate the guns to aim at each other via script

Good job smallg. When you upload the character to g.g. Is the animations a separate file? Or is it in the fbx file? When you upload it to the g.g. up loader. I hope I'm making sense

The animations are included with the export of the model, I don't know how to make it a separate file tbh.
