@reliquia, thank you so much, i try to use your texture but i must do something stupid because it does not show in the paint box. can i use number 3 or 4 to paint with it.?
If i try to use number 4 It does not show , what am i doing wrong.

i have used your sample1 in slot number 4 but it keep on using the default texture.

ok if i save the file as a png file with paintnet is the settings correct in this picture.

Yeah it has to have alpha channel and save as PNG 32 ( 24 with Alpha) to work with 16 texture terrain system.

Do you know how to do that?

No idea how to do it in paint.net I use Photoshop.

So you need to:
1) create a gay-scale version of the image
---- use levels to get right shade of grey, this affects how shiny it will be in gg
2) copy the greyscale version and paste it into the alpha channel of the colour image
3) Save it as png 24 with Transparency

Lol - sounds complicated, but tis easy when you know how

Here be Sand 01 didn't have time to test the shinyness in gg - sry
Made an N for it as well but again not tested in gg to see if it works ok

If you still stuck will do the others and test tomorrow.

Lol need to sleep now....

Forgot to mention. The image may look almost invisible in Window Explorer - just ignor that - it will be the right colour in gg

reliquia, Thank you so much for the texture files. its working.
i also re opened the other sand textures that did not wanted to work
and also save them in paint.net as as 32 bit so they also work now.
Thank you.

granada, thank you and reliquia for your prompt reply.
i have learned now that if i want to use a texture then i must save it as a png, and in paint.net if i save it as a png and chose the setting 32bit then it display in the paint box and it looks nice in GG.
