Hi all! Just want to ask. I have PSU Zalman zm 600 lx, 8gb dd3 ram, i7 4790s(low voltage), SSD, 1tb HDD, one optical mechanic, mATX MB. Right now I have gtx 760 Phantom 2gb, but I want to switch to something more powerful, like gtx 770. Will my PSU be enough? THX
Thanks.

It should be more than enough in combination with a 770 but i think you best compare before you buy because a 1060 6gb is faster and newer but also less power hungry than the 770 i think.

agreed with earthling, if not a 1060 then basically any newer card is better but the last 2 digits being higher is better for gaming for geforce cards, take a look at what you can afford and your system shouldn't have any issues, a 600w psu can power a lot
so
770 is better than 830 but 870 is better than 770... 1070 is 3 generations (about 3 years) newer than 770

Yup, i agree, you would be letting down the system by going for an old 770. A 600w PSU can handle most things now days, it's only really if you're going into extreme systems with SLI etc. you need more, and a 1060 would probably serve you much better if you can get one, the 1060 is over half again as powerful as the 770, and it uses just over half the power of the 770.

To compare cards, take a look at this site, it shows pretty clearly the differences:

Also, if you can. Throw in another 8Gb Ram and make your primary drive a 240Gb SSD. These are two affordable upgrades that will drastically improve performance on your PC.

i had 16gb in 2x8gb till 1 gave up recently and i can honestly say i haven't noticed any difference running on 8 vs 16... most programs simply can't use anywhere near enough to make it worthwhile unless you're planning on running many programs at once maybe.

Agree with smallg there, howeve if you use tools like quixel, substance, terragen, to make art for your games, then the more ram the better.

Yeah. for general PC use, 8GB of RAM is more than enough for most software. However, ,if you're getting into the realms of 3D rendering, movie/video editing and such you will eventually need more.
